Popular Missy Brand Reenters Market in Over 500 Doors—Ingroup Licensing -- the agent for such power brands as Mudd Jeans -- today announced the newest addition to its client roster, internationally-recognized Zena. Ingroup Chairman, Steven J. Seidman, and Zena owner, Dick Gilbert, made the announcement.

Zena was the prevailing junior denim brand through the 80s and into the early 90s. The fashion-forward brand features high quality denims and touts their superior fit as top selling points. The newly re-launched brand is shipping to 500 doors, including Nordstrom (Point of View department), Dillard’s and Marshall Fields (both in the better departments). The first deliveries will be in-store for August 30th 2002. Ingroup Licensing will be the exclusive agent for the brand, licensing fashion-related categories.

According to Joe Purritano, Zena’s president, “We signed Ingroup based on their understanding of fashion licensing and their industry-leading results for other clients, like Mudd. They have a record for steady, global growth.”

Seidman notes, “We chose to work with Zena for several reasons, namely, the brands’ enduring name recognition, updated products that fit well, and their clean department store distribution. They are a strong brand to build a licensing program around.”

Ingroup Licensing is the exclusive licensing agent for Zena. Based in Manhattan, Ingroup concentrates on developing fashion brands, with an emphasis on youth brands. Clients include Mudd Jeans (LIMA’s 2002 Fashion License of the Year), for whom Ingroup has signed over 20 national and international licensees, and Plugg, whose licensing program has doubled annual revenues.
